Expect greatness from yourself

Expect greatness from yourself
I started reading Michael Jordan’s biography “The Life”. I’m only a few pages in but I’ve been reading quotations from this book for almost a year now and I can only expect great motivation from picking this up.
This morning on instagram [ I’m @karlbroadie by the way ] someone I follow @MWFmotivation posted an awesome photo of Jordan flying through the air, mid-dunk! with the caption:
“YOU MUST EXPECT GREAT THINGS OF YOURSELF BEFORE YOU CAN DO THEM” – Michael Jordan
I almost gave that post a touch down celebration when I read it!
Put simply, if we don’t expect it of ourselves, how might others perceive us?
This is not about manifesting greatness without working hard for it, it’s about being the change we want to see in ourselves. Throwing ourselves in, even if we are unprepared, so that we may learn what needs done to fix it or make it better.
Applying ourselves to our songwriting every day, even in small ways, is bound to lead to significant improvements. So let’s say we apply ourselves double that amount each day. Where might THAT lead us? Will we get worse at our craft or even better? Now let’s 10 x that effort, where can we see ourselves now?
I’m subscribing friends. This is the simple (yet not easy), way to improve and achieve.
The songwriting thoughts I share on here can be added to your daily practices, daily processes, daily mindsets, daily palette of colours from which you will choose from to paint your masterpiece.
Please let me be someone who is lucky enough to get to see that one day? Deal?
All the best!
Karl
